 I love ‘em, and wish I had the budget and garage space to own them all. This outrageous beauty is owned by Chris Begley, and he had the technicians at Superior Axle & Gear perform some axle & gear upgrades on it at our Las Vegas facilities. That gave us the chance to see it first hand and snap some photos of it in person.

Chris bought this ride 10 years ago when he was in high school. Back then this was a 1967 Ford F250 with a 12 inch lift and 42 inch Swampers.  The inspiration for this mammoth truck was to take it to Glamis, so with about ten years of blood sweat and tears, very little of the original ’67 Ford remains.  Chris tells us that he believes only three feet of the original truck frame remains along with the original rear axle housing.

The new incarnation of his truck features a 1999 Ford F-150 Cab, Ford 408 Small Block power plant, Aluminum TRW forged pistons, Edelbrock intake, Holly 850 double pumper carburetor, custom headers, PSC full hydraulic steering with double ended ram, K&N filter, Painless wiring, RV Cam and a C6 Transmission mated to a NP205 Transfer Case. This ride is complemented with Fox Shocks, a Fiberwerx Dash, T-Rex grill insert, and Trailer Products fiberglass bedsides and front clip. Tires and suspension include 46” Mickey Thompsons Baja Claws, and 20” Trail Ready Bead locks and he still maintains 20” of front suspension travel and an amazing 28”of rear travel.

The front axle is a ‘79 Ford F350 hi pinion Dana 60 with a Detroit Locker PN 225SL29B, Superior 5.38 Reverse ring and pinion PN D60538RX and Superior Evolution Series Inner Axles PA6385A & PA6385B inner axles and PA6198 35 Spline stub axles with CTM U-joints

The rear axle is a Full Float Dana 60, Converted from 16 spline to 35 spline axles and running a 35 spline full spool PN 75-2034-35, 5.38 Ring and pinion and Superior Forged 1350 pinion yoke PN 90-2034-1350F and Evolution Series  chrom-moly cut to fit full float axles PN PA6331C
