Craig Stumph is an off-road and rock crawling legend and one of the best-known personalities in the sport. He has over 35 years of off-road experience and has competed in numerous competitions. He became addicted to off road sports at the age of 13 when he built his first dune buggy out of a 56 Ford. In 1976 at the age of 16 he purchased his first Jeep, a CJ-7 and took it to Moab Utah, he’s been back virtually every year since.
Craig competed in the first Warn Rock Crawl Competition 1998, in ARCA 1999 - 2001, UROC Pro National Series in 2004 and founded and managed the United Rockcrawling and Off-Road Challenge (UROC).
Craig went on to originate the modern rock crawling format used currently and organized the first SuperCrawl World Championship rock crawl in 2002. Craig helped establish and managed the world’s largest off-road team “ROCKSTARS” in 2003.
While the sport saw changes to rock crawling that incorporated speed, Stumph preferred promoting finesse, skill and control instead.
He has organized and is promoting the Old School Charity Rock Crawl in Delta Utah which is now in its third year. This event features rock crawling with the finesse and the excitement of the UROC days and is usually held over Memorial Day weekend.
Craig has a close relationship with Superior Axle and Gear and is working with Superior to make further advancements in Superior’s product line. Craig is a long-time friend and is the “Godfather” of rock crawling as we know it. We at Superior Axle and Gear are proud to have this legend in the sport showcasing our products.
