Today was another interesting day at Superior, I got a call from Jesse James’s (Of West Coast Chopper fame) lead mechanic who maintains all of Jesse’s race cars and personal cars. He explained that Jesse was messing around doing doughnuts in his ’02 Chevy Camaro, hit a curb and bent a rear axle. I assured him we had the performance axle he needed. A couple hours later he showed up at our door with a bunch of West Coast Chopper swag. Really a cool guy and part of an organization we really admire.
Shortly after he left we got a call from the crew of the Discovery Channel TV show “Garage Wars” they busted a front axle in a Chevy ½ ton while filming an episode. The goal was to make a truck skip across water like one of those Icelandic race trucks. We had exactly what they needed to get the project fixed up, but what we weren’t expecting was for them to show up with a camera crew and film our facility and our rides. So keep an eye out for Superior Axle and Gear on a future episode of Garage Wars. You may even see a cameo appearance of a couple of our guys.
